Scotland abandoned the organization of the Wuko Championships 2010 for financial reasons. We received immediately the application of Germany, France and Italy.

- Proximity of airports with low cost flights

- Cheap accommodations

- Offer of the Wuko sponsor Oriente Sport to pay a double room B&B in the official hotel to 2 athletes for 2 nights for each nation and to award to the winner of each category a karate-gi Professional Hitachi, today one of the best on the market in the world.

Best Regards,

CONGRESS

On the 20th November 2009, in the Congress Hall of the University of Guadalajara, Mexico, at 6 p.m., took place the Wuko Extraordinary Congress, called to elect the new Directing Committee, which will be in office for the next 5 years.

The Wuko Founding Members with vote’s right and, by proxy, the two outgoing Vice Presidents, Angel Martinez Duato and Roberto Bani, as well as the Delegates of following organizations, attended the meeting:

Roy Fox (England), Bill Hair (Scotland Ska), Luigi Aschedamni (Italy), Darryl Williams (Trinidad & Tobago), Didier Chiarla (France), Dereck Pollock (Scotland), Soren Helsted (Denmark), Victor Manuel Enriquez Gamino (Mexico), Francisco Bezerra (Brazil Cbkb), Julio Hernaez (Spain), Juliana Braga (Brazil Ckib), Gustavo Zupan (Argentina), Enrique Welcker (Israel), Paul Danos (Usa), Juan Antonio De Leon (Panama), Eiji Ogasahara (Japan)

The meeting was open to the outgoing President Carlo Henke, who explained the reasons why the Wuko was refounded and an Extraordinary Congress was called: the lack of regular tax and book-keeping records conforming with the laws in force in the nation where the Wuko was founded.

Then the President explained the financial situation: the takings of the year 2009 amount to Euro 20.093,00, coming from the memberships of old and new organizations joining the Wuko, including the registration fees for the Childrens, Cadets & Juniors Championship held in guadalajara (Italy) from the 12th to the 14th June 2009. Deducting all the expenses there is a balance of Euro 8.251,41. The Congress passed the budget. The President exhorts all members, to specify always the object of payments, because it is difficult for the Secretariat to trace the origin of payments.

The Congress elected then for the next five years (2010-2014):

President: Carlo Henke (Italy)

1st Vice President: Didier Chiarla (France)

2nd Vice President: Gustavo Esteban Zupan (Argentina)

3rd Vice President: Luigi Aschedamini (Italy)

4th Vice President: Angel Martinez Duato (Spain)

5th Vice President: Darryl Williams (Trinidad & Tobago)

Auditors: Enrique Daniel Welcher (Israel); Francisco Lima Bezerra (Brazil). Supplente: Wayne Gayandeen (Trinidad & Tobago)

Afterwards the Congress approved also the minor changes of the Statute required by law.

    ANNOUNCEMENT OF THE WUKO SECRETARIAT

The Wuko Secretariat apologizes for the delay in the transmission of these information to the Member States, but on his return in Italy from Mexico, President Henke was hospitalized in Milan for a surgical operation prearranged long time ago and couldn’t ratify the documentation of the Congress and of the Directing Committee. The operation was successful and the President has already been discharged. The article with the sports report of this World Championship will be published next week.

STUPIDITY HAS NO LIMITS

The President of one of the many world karate organization born in the last times keeps on writing libellous letters to our members, full of insults, falsities and lies. This man must be really afraid of being abandoned by the organizations that decided to stay with him. Such a stupidity can’t be explained otherwise. The statement of false things without confirmation or the prediction of facts that do not come true, amounts to contradicting himself when data are demonstrated by numbers and by takings as well as confirmed by the presents.

Last spring this man coming from nowhere, without any history that could prove his merits in the world of karate, wrote that the Wuko mark would have been struck off the official registers, that the Wuko Championship in Mexico would have not taken place and that the President Carlo Henke would have had to pay millions of Euro for damages against other organizations. The Wuko Championship took place in Guadalajara, the President Henke has never received damages claims. What will think of this poor man the devotee of karate in the world, seeing the Wuko carrying on calmly its activity in the year 2010, 2015, 2020 and in years to come?

They will think that he is a poor devil, coming from nowhere, who has not understood yet, that the in the world of karate one reaches the top for his merits, with his work, with facts and not with lies. We will not write a world against his organization, we will go calmly ours way, supported by esteemed and famous personalities as our Honorary President Eiji Ogasahara, 9th dan, by dozens of awards for our activity signed by Heads of state and prominent personalities from all over the world.

Best wishes for their future, to the friends that joined this new organization. We remember them with love, we hope that they won’t have damages or chagrins on the way they chose.

Time will tell, and people are not stupid. They can see values, honesty and ideals of the executives, they have learned to understand the difference between the latter-dayparvenus and the ones that have made a fine contribution to the world karate history. To all the karateka able to recognize themselves in this values, my best wishes for a future full of satisfactions within reciprocal friendship and cooperation.

                    Carlo Henke

MESSAGE OF THE HONORARY PRESIDENT
Grand Prix

Dear friends,

as Wuko Honorary President I send you my best wishes for this great World Championship. We all love karate-do. As a result, also our organization loves karate-do. Our love helps establishing peace in the world: this is the image of our Wuko.

I practice karate since almost 60 years. I was born and I grew up in an International city as Kobe. This is why I had the luck to teach karate to diplomats coming from France, America and other foreign nations. In 1964, when the Olympics were held in Tokyo, the French Government honored me with the first official invitation to teach karate in France.

In that occasion I met President Jacques Delcourt: together we went around France. In 1970, in the occasion of the 1st Wuko World Championship, the French National team trained in my dojo before taking part to the World Championship.

Afterwards the Wuko had to change its name to pursue an Olympic dream, but now we all know well how things have gone. Today the new Wuko has become a great organization thanks to the efforts of its President Carlo Henke and of the many valuable managers of the Wuko executive.

Many thanks to the Mexican Federation and to its President, Victor Manuel Enriquez for how they have been able to realize this World Championship in Guadalajara. I hope that this Championship will be an occasion to forge bonds of friendship among us all! I thank you all another time and wish you all the best.

The Wuko Honorary President

Eiji Ogasahara

MESSAGE OF THE PRESIDENT

Dear friends,

many federations joined the Wuko in the last months. We published on our web-site the names of all presidents with photos and a short information.

The last membership dates back to the 25th October. On that day the Feuam, one of the most important Spanish federation, renewed its membership, and its President Angel Martinez Duato, Wuko founder member, confirmed that he will re-announce his candidacy as Wuko Vice-President in our Congress in Guadalajara.

All my love to our friend Angel. Together we went along all the stages that have brought to the birth of the Wuko and to its overwhelming development worldwide, together we shared really exciting moments. His contribute will be significant, because Duato has at his side a high-level organizational group. Other Spanish organization will follow him. The future of the Wuko has never appeared so full of positive events: I thank you all my friends, the year 2010 will be a great sports-year for the World Union of Karate do Organizations and for all its members!

Carlo Henke

Wuko President

MESSAGE OF THE VICE PRESIDENT DUATO

Dear all my friends of Karate,
I'm writing you this email to let you know that I have received an offer to develop my work and ideas about Karate together with my FEUAM team in WUKO, of which I'm a founder member as I am in WUKF.
We have come a long way together and shared really good times. I will keep them in my memory and in my heart. Now I believe it's time for me to move on and rejoin my work and my path in WUKO, where I see a big deal of challenges and growth ahead.
I hope to count on your friendship as you can count on mine for sure, independently of the Worldwide organisation where we are.
If you want to know the specific motivations that have led me to take this decision, please do not hesitate to contact me.
I wish you all the very best and hope to meet you soon and share more good Karate moments together.
Kind regards,

Ángel M. Duato
President of FEUAM and Vice-president WUKO
